Stimulation cards

One important pre-reading skill is the ability to distinguish shapes. Hello! Baby is a series of sense stimulation cards that bring simple stimuli to babies that encourages attentiveness and visual sensitivity without being overwhelming. The cards come with a classical music cd which can be played to make the card play more enjoyable as parent/caregiver and child look these pictograms. The combination stimulates children's auditory and visual senses and enhances the concentration of the child.

The series makes various cards for different age levels. The cards for newborn babies are black and white shapes, abstract, and geometric designs with a Mozart disc. Another set for babies/infants, includes cards in color and black and white, that have more conceptual illustrations such as learning to see differences and similarities. All the cards have large illustrations on one side and text for the parent (tips etc) on the reverse. The cards can be used with babies to aid with naming and verbalizing what is on the cards. As the child grows, parents/caregivers can ask the questions such as "which is different" or "why are they the same." These cards develop a child's vocabulary and visual association abilities.

A later set, see pictures below, focuses on daily life. The cards come with a cd that is full of the interesting sounds to stimulate the baby. These cards allow children to experience sound then allows them to explore to find the picture in the cards. The cards can be used to enhance sensory perception in a fun way. Children will enjoy hearing all of the sounds and seeing what is associated with those sounds.

The cards are another indirect way to assist in early literacy. They assist in age appropriate vocabulary development, phonetic awareness, acknowledgment of the illustrated world and spoken associations, understanding basic principles, and visual discrimination. Hello! Baby also introduces basic Chinese characters and Zhuyin symbols (the phonetic system used in Taiwan to learn Mandarin).
