Pictorial wordless story about a bird and bee's journey together.
Craig Frazier's graphic illustrations and creative use of perspective add to this tale of camaraderie. The book opens with a closeup of the bee's strips on a red background. The next page shows that this is actually the bee sitting on the birds head. Another page shows a angular white background which ends up being the sail on a sailboat which is in a bicycle's basket. It's a different way of seeing perspective and telling a story. At first, I must admit that I was skeptical (and still am slightly) about wordless books, but this does seem like a fun book for young readers. In addition, it should help with conceptualizing stories (an early literacy skill) as the pictures tell the story. This will help boost comfort and confidence with books.
