Finally! Here is a book that shows green in all of its glorious variations and captures the color in brilliantly conceived pages with creative die cuts that add an additional element of surprise. The types of green go beyond just various shades (light/dark). Rich forest green, glowing incandescent firefly green, grass green, lime green, fern green, aquamarine of a tropical sea, shaded green of an apple orchard, pea green, and other variations. The book also includes instances of anti-green... a red light and snow.
It is great to see a book that addresses the complexity of color and doesn't simplify and stupefy color choice with just a color block. After all, green is a very important color for children to see. There is something that seeing green triggers. This will end all of those modern children debates, based on modern board books with one color representation, of what is green and what is not. So far, this book as received really good reviews from the big reviewers, independent reviewers, and has many fans. Some say that it might be a nominee for 2013 awards.
