Seeger, Laura Vaccaro. Lemons Are Not Red. Brookfield, Conn.: Roaring Brook Press, 2004. 32 pages. Picture book. ISBN 978-1596430082. Ages 2 and up. Author's official website: http://www.studiolvs.com/website_root/StudioLVS_Home/Home.html

"Lemons are not red. Lemons are yellow. Apples are red." Color concept book that introduces through die cuts and factual association.

The repetitive text reinforce early reasoning and helps build early logic with the simple argumentative lines "this is not-" and something "is -." Through the text, this book becomes a visual game that teaches via objects that are associated with certain colors. This book is more interactive than most other color books and the repetitive text is easy to memorize.
