"Black car, green car, nice car, mean car, near car, far car. Whoa! Bizarre car!" An autocade of a parade. Realistic and fantasy-like cars and text that rhymes reminiscent of Dr. Seuss or P.D. Eastman's "Go Dog Go." There are sizes, sounds, locations, types, proximities, basic mechanics, purposes, and even some ecological ways of treating, choosing, and using cars. All in rhyme or with a fast rhythm. "Plug-in autos. Solar autos. Igloo ice-fueled polar autos! Eco-friendly, runs-on-air car! Zzzip-around-without- a- care car!"
The retro type illustrations and the text make this a fun car book to read. There is also a great variety in the illustrations that make it fun to just look at. Race cars, police cars, towed cars, tow trucks all in action among many other types. It is also filled with creative vocabulary that might otherwise be challenging to use in a conversation. Preschoolers will enjoy this as a read aloud.
